Christian Shaefer - As an EMT, county forensic investigator, and funeral director intern, Christian has dealt with death on a daily basis for the better part of the last 10 years. During his service in the funeral industry, he has helped many families grapple with the practical and emotional difficulty of losing loved ones. In 2012 he was deployed with the Medical Reserve Corps to provide relief during Hurricane Sandy. Christian is a member of the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners, and the NY State Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners. He holds a degree in mortuary science from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services in Houston, Texas.

Samuel Issah - Samuel Alhassan Issah holds a PhD in linguistics and an Mphil in Theoretical linguistics awarded by the Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main and the University of Tromsoe, Norway respectively. He is currently a senior lecturer at the faculty of Ghanaian Languages at the University of education, Winneba. He has published extensively in both local and international journals. He is a co-author of the Handbook of the Mabia Mabia Languages of west Africa. He is married to Jemima Buntugu and they are blessed with three amazing children.

Liz & Allison - Liz and Allison are sisters who lost their mother to cancer when they were young children. They both now have children of their own, and are working hard to deconstruct the emotional difficulty of the loss of a parent so that they can give their kids tools to develop healthy relationships with and communication skills regarding the concepts and realities surrounding death and mortality. They are also my second cousins.
